Poland Raises 2027 Pension Indexation Forecast After Inflation Revision

Polish pensioners could receive a larger benefit increase in March 2027 than previously forecast, according to a report from Dziennik.pl. The outlet says the government has revised its projections upward following new inflation data.

Dziennik.pl reports that the 2027 indexation rate will be higher than initially assumed, meaning monthly pensions will rise more than expected from March 1, 2027. The article includes a table showing the projected increases for various pension amounts. The revision follows a period of rising consumer prices, which the publication links to the government's updated economic forecasts.

The news comes as part of a broader set of reports on Polish retirement benefits. Fakt separately noted that price increases prompted the government to raise its forecasts for pension changes in 2027. Gazeta Prawna also published a new indexation projection, suggesting some retirees could see an additional 2,056 złotys per year, which is more than earlier estimates. Forsal.pl reported on a separate one-time bonus for seniors, with an extra 2,057 złotys expected to reach accounts in April, though that payment is distinct from the annual indexation.

Additionally, Gazeta Pomorska covered upcoming changes to the "widow's pension" (Renta Wdowia) effective January 2027, which affects surviving spouses receiving combined benefits.

The exact percentage increase for the 2027 indexation will depend on final inflation figures, which the government typically confirms closer to the adjustment date. Polish law ties annual pension hikes to the previous year's average price growth, sometimes with a minimum guaranteed raise.

Watch for the official 2027 indexation rate announcement, expected later this year, to confirm the final figures for retirees.
